WHY SHOULD WE PRAY????

Time changes when we face death. Time is our Life, we should thank God for every day we are given. Time is a gift from God so we can contribute to the life of someone else. We are given life to pray, to worship, to rest and be still so we can feel the presence of God, to read the Word and to seek God. Take the time to build relationships, don’t keep God at arms length. Keep God in your thoughts and heart. Take the time to be undistracted with God, be quiet and honor God with our thoughts and words. Be productive with the time God has given us. Start every day with prayer, end every day with prayer. Psalm 119:125-128 133. We can not live a life of sin and expect God to bless our life.

The reasons we pray: Prayer should be the authority in our life. Prayer gives us a clear timely direction for our day. Prayer helps to prevent us from making wrong decisions. Prayer will give God time to change our plans, God’s wisdom is the best. God wants to show us His plan, be still and listen to the Holy Spirit to lead. Prayer eliminates worry and anxiety, prayer produces a sense of calmness and peacefulness. When we pray it invites God into our daily activities and He can guide and direct us. Prayer gives us confidence to do what God has in His plan for our life. Prayer eliminates the need to fret, prayer sharpens our discernment, we can clearly see what God’s plan for our life is. God works while we are asleep, our brain shuts off but our heart is open to the Holy Spirit, that dwells in us when we became a child of God. When we pray we get God’s viewpoint on our problems and concerns, prayer brings energy to our life. Prayer prevents us from getting distracted we need to focus on God. Prayer will remind us to act, when we are distracted we sometime forget to do things that would be pleasing to God. Prayer prevents us from being discouraged and prayer opens the door of opportunity. When we pray ask for God’s will to be done in our life. We can not expect God to bless us if we ignore Him. With the time we are given are we just being busy or are we fruitful? We should take the same amount of time to pray and have a relationship with our Savior as we do anything else in our day. We must invest our time or we waste the time given. The time we are given is a gift from God……..I pray this helps in some way as you face each day on your journey of Life. Love and prayer, Edith

Recent sermon I wanted to share,,

This is a recent sermon I heard and I wanted to share it will anyone that was willing to listen with their heart.

The truth is found in the Bible, the same truth that was 1000 years ago can be found in the Bible today. It is the Living Word of God. God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others. We can pass God’s blessings by praying for God’s blessings, pray to God to meet a need, pray for happiness, pray for joy, pray for kindness, and when we are blessed we should share the blessings with others.

God saves us to keep sin from destroying us. God saves us to confirm that we are His child. God saves us by Grace. God saves us to bring glory, so we can do His work here on earth. Be a servant and pass God’s blessings to others. When Jesus walked this earth, He first met the needs; He fed the hungry, He healed the sick, He forgave them when they came to Him and truly repented of their sins, Jesus comforted them and assured his followers of a better life. The troubled He gave them peace. When He saw a need He met the need( not want but need). When we have a passion for something we will serve. God said to be kind to others, offer forgiveness and kindness to others, even the ones that don’t seem to deserve our love and forgiveness. By offering forgiveness we free ourselves to love and be a servant of God.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANNIE EDITH

January 7,1909 my Grannie Edith was born.
When I needed a friend to understand, she was always there to listen. When I needed time to work things through, she let me discover the things she already knew. When I need her, she has always been there to gently guide me, to encourage me, to lend a helping hand and most of all she cared. I am so blessed to be loved by my Grannie. HAPPY 102nd birthday, Love you, Edith
