News from Tx

Hey everyone, well this has been a busy month for us out here in tx. First off Retta had to have surgery on her neck as you can see in the second pic that was taken two days afterwards when we got to go home and the first on was taken today two weeks later. She had an absece that had to be drained and a tube was put in and left there for two days so that it could drain. The ENT drained 8.5ml of puss from her neck thery're not sure what caused it because she was on iv antibiotics for three days before hand so nothing grew in the cultures. She's now do great and you wouldn't know she was sick other than the cut on her neck. Cheyanne's growing like a weed she already has one tooth and a second close behind and she'd only 31/2months old. David and I are doin great and can't wait to go home for a visit. Til next time, Katie

Friday ramblings

Dear family and friends, As I was driving to work on Friday morning I was listening to my regular radio station 91.9 John and Sherry. There was lots of good music and then a speaker came on and was talking how we try to play " Let's make a deal" with Christ. We may be going through something really tough and instead of taking our concerns and needs to Christ and leave them there and believe He will answer our prayers, we start this" God if you do this then I will do this" and" God if you are real you will do this and this for me and then I will fully trust you" but we don't have to do anything but trust and believe because Christ proved His love for us. He did it all at Calvary!!!! All we have to do it accept Him and trust and obey and feel the peace and joy of knowing a man like Jesus...It was very powerful as I was facing a hard day at work and ending a long stressful week. You know Friday also was the first day of spring and we should be reminded that just like we know in the spring the flowers will come again and everything will be fresh and new again that should also be a reminder that Jesus will come again just as He promised. Love and prayers, Edith

Living Hope

I probably won't make much sense today because we heard so much and it may be difficult to condense to this space, but I will try. This lesson is from I Peter 1: 3-5 KJV and NIV Bible. We find Peter, a fisherman, devoted follower of Christ, walked on water, risk his life for Jesus, didn't fully understand what he was living and betrayed Jesus. Peter could be an example of a lot of us, we don't fully understand God's presence, instead of being bold and standing up for our beliefs we sometime worry what people at work might think, what our neighbors might think so in turn we "betray" Jesus. We think of ourselves as devoted but when we suffer, and we will have trials, we will hurt, we will have hardships and difficult circumstances as we travel this journey called life but, do we allow ourself to grow through these tough times. These trials will refine a believer's faith and prove it is real. We do not know where our Hope is until we suffer, our Hope should be in God. Hope is to desire something and have the expectation that it will happen. Even though we can not see Him we love Him and believe in Him. We are filled with joy and will receive the goal of our faith. God has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The outcome of the new birth is our inheritance of eternal life. This inheritance is open to all who accept Him. When Christ returns He will gather His people and give them a glorified body and then we will enjoy the riches of heaven. We should expect to have trials but we should also know there is God who gives us Hope. Love and prayers, Ann
