Fall Planting Season
I have been busy this week planting 54 new Iris roots that I ordered. It is amazing the work it takes to work up the ground, add mulch and fertilizer and mix it up then plant, water and cover the root. It has taken me all week. Of course I don't get home until almost 7:00pm so I am running out of daylight most evenings. I went for my Cancer check up, it marks the 5 year milestone and everything is still good. God has been so good to me and with his grace and mercy I have made it. Every day we are given with our families is truly a gift. Love to all.

Aunt Edith,
I just realized that I signed off my post the same way you did and it wasn't intentional. How strange, or perhaps you are rubbing off on me in a small way :) I also have a huge interest in flowers and gardening like you seem to. I wouldn't expect great things with this blog. My husband's family blog kind of fizzled out after a time but I think those who are interested in the family will continue to post and read. I know of some who read but don't want to comment. So as long as I know it isn't totally dead, I will read, post and comment. Thanks for setting it up.
Also wanted to say congratulations on your good check up. Although you must know some of the saddness that also comes with the news. I will remember the family in prayer today. Praise the Lord! He is in control of all things.
Edie, was glad to hear about the great news on your check-up. It has been a long time coming, but maybe we all can breath a little easier now. Have you heard anything from Sharon about how she is doing?
Where do you buy your flower bulbs from? I don't have much land here but I think flowers brightens up even the tiniest of spaces. I would like to plant some new flowers at the farm also, but I would like to buy from a reputable business. Any help that you could give me would be much appreciated.
Aunt Bea, I talked to Sharon and she also had a great check up and is good to go until February 2009. I use Schreiner's for my Iris wish list. I pick pinks and purple or ones that are different maybe yellow and purple or yellow and red. I love flowers because first of all I feel connected to Grannie when I am working in my flowers and the very idea of God's promise of renewal. They are dead and then after a season they are alive again
and when I get to see the beauty of each bloom I am reminded of his promise. Love to all.
