Living Hope
I probably won't make much sense today because we heard so much and it may be difficult to condense to this space, but I will try. This lesson is from I Peter 1: 3-5 KJV and NIV Bible. We find Peter, a fisherman, devoted follower of Christ, walked on water, risk his life for Jesus, didn't fully understand what he was living and betrayed Jesus. Peter could be an example of a lot of us, we don't fully understand God's presence, instead of being bold and standing up for our beliefs we sometime worry what people at work might think, what our neighbors might think so in turn we "betray" Jesus. We think of ourselves as devoted but when we suffer, and we will have trials, we will hurt, we will have hardships and difficult circumstances as we travel this journey called life but, do we allow ourself to grow through these tough times. These trials will refine a believer's faith and prove it is real. We do not know where our Hope is until we suffer, our Hope should be in God. Hope is to desire something and have the expectation that it will happen. Even though we can not see Him we love Him and believe in Him. We are filled with joy and will receive the goal of our faith. God has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The outcome of the new birth is our inheritance of eternal life. This inheritance is open to all who accept Him. When Christ returns He will gather His people and give them a glorified body and then we will enjoy the riches of heaven. We should expect to have trials but we should also know there is God who gives us Hope. Love and prayers, Ann

Let me clarify, Peter betrayed Jesus
by denying he knew Him. This was Thursday evening into Friday morning. During these hours he denied knowing Jesus or having walked with Him and listening to his teachings. Peter sometime spoke and acted before thinking. I am sure we can all relate to this.....
peter denided jesus because hedidnt want to be introuble withe the roman's that is what i believe. i wonder how many of us would be willing to acknowledge him if we thaught we would be beaten and go through what jesus did. but peter was sorry for what he did he repented. i believe he did truly love jesus and was willing to fight for him if jesus had commanded it but he wasent willing to do much at the time if jesus was not by his side.
our lesson was from john chapter 13
where judas betrayed jesus and i noticed that judas didnt seem to have any plans of betraying jesus until jesus gave him the sop then saten entered into him and he left you know can's stay in the lords presentshe has to move on.
Isn't it ironic that "sop" can stand for a solid piece of food usually bread used for dipping liquid food or something given as a bribe or pay off and the most interesting one a weak spineless person, a weakling. Judas fit the meaning of "sop". I found this to be an interesting side note.
This is an interesting comment to add to this lesson. Christians are the only followers that worship a living God.All other followers
worship a dead person or thing. So celebrate the Living God that is here with us today. He is real and He is alive, desire to walk closer and have a personal relationship with
Christ. We have reason to celebrate...
