I wanted to share pictures of magic lillies, they have been a bumper crop this year. Had some singles earlier maybe 2 weeks ago where I moved some two years ago. Then the mother plant started to bloom. I hope you enjoy as much as I have.

We have passed the first month mark
and I am very happy with our progress so far. The last time I checked almost 60 people had viewed this web site and I know some more people have pictures to share and comments to leave. Keep spreading the news and come back often to check the comings and goings of our large family. I hope to see more comments and pictures as school starts and the summer canning season gets wrapped up. Keep up the good work to all that have shared.

Are they called "magic lillies" because they have no greenery or maybe it just looks that way in the pic? They look really beautiful.
Yes, they are called magic lillies because early in the spring the long slim leaves announce spring arrival. Then as the weather warms up the leaves die and turn brown, I remove mine and wait for August, usually after a rainy time the stem pop up and the pink flowers sometimes 3-5 per stem, if you notice I think there is around 12 stems coming out of the ground. Then the bloom will fade and dry up
I move mine about every 5 years because you won't believe how many new bulbs will grow in that space of time. I have read they bloom better if they are not crowded, and I have heard to leave them in place. I separated mine and they are doing fine. Go figure...
The pictures of the magic lillies are really beautiful. Mom's magic lillies did really well this year also. May is talking about taking some of them up and planting them other places. I hope to get a few bulbs to plant out at my house at Winifrede.
