WHY SHOULD WE PRAY????

Time changes when we face death. Time is our Life, we should thank God for every day we are given. Time is a gift from God so we can contribute to the life of someone else. We are given life to pray, to worship, to rest and be still so we can feel the presence of God, to read the Word and to seek God. Take the time to build relationships, don’t keep God at arms length. Keep God in your thoughts and heart. Take the time to be undistracted with God, be quiet and honor God with our thoughts and words. Be productive with the time God has given us. Start every day with prayer, end every day with prayer. Psalm 119:125-128 133. We can not live a life of sin and expect God to bless our life.

The reasons we pray: Prayer should be the authority in our life. Prayer gives us a clear timely direction for our day. Prayer helps to prevent us from making wrong decisions. Prayer will give God time to change our plans, God’s wisdom is the best. God wants to show us His plan, be still and listen to the Holy Spirit to lead. Prayer eliminates worry and anxiety, prayer produces a sense of calmness and peacefulness. When we pray it invites God into our daily activities and He can guide and direct us. Prayer gives us confidence to do what God has in His plan for our life. Prayer eliminates the need to fret, prayer sharpens our discernment, we can clearly see what God’s plan for our life is. God works while we are asleep, our brain shuts off but our heart is open to the Holy Spirit, that dwells in us when we became a child of God. When we pray we get God’s viewpoint on our problems and concerns, prayer brings energy to our life. Prayer prevents us from getting distracted we need to focus on God. Prayer will remind us to act, when we are distracted we sometime forget to do things that would be pleasing to God. Prayer prevents us from being discouraged and prayer opens the door of opportunity. When we pray ask for God’s will to be done in our life. We can not expect God to bless us if we ignore Him. With the time we are given are we just being busy or are we fruitful? We should take the same amount of time to pray and have a relationship with our Savior as we do anything else in our day. We must invest our time or we waste the time given. The time we are given is a gift from God……..I pray this helps in some way as you face each day on your journey of Life. Love and prayer, Edith

prayer is the only way we can talk to god. The bible says we have not because we ask not. if we dont pray how can we ask him for anything. i believe if someone asks for prayer we should do it right then don't wait some times our prayer is not answered right then but keep on asking daniel prayed for 21 days before his prayer was answered. but he didn't stop until his answer came i think we should do the same. and believe it will be answered. and don't be surprised when the answer comes.

That is why our pastor ask us to keep a prayer journal. We write down what our prayer is and then as you look back in the journal you can remember how God answered your prayers. I am so blessed every day, some days in big blessings and some days maybe just a small blessing but they are all important. On Friday the 21st a big blessing came in the form of a safe delivery of Shawn David.....

I always enjoy your comments(spirtual as well as personal). You give such insight into every topic that you address. I get such a blessing and uplifting when I get to read the thing that you have posted. It's true that I don't get much time anymore to be on the computer because Richard wants me in the room with him all the time he is awake, but once in a great while I get to steal away and come done and log on. Thanks so very much for all that you have done for me through these many years. Love You Much, Aunt Bea

I think that the prayer journal is a really great idea. I believe that I will try to get a notebook and start one. It might even help me to be more vigilant about praying. Like you said it will give me a reminder of what the Lord has really done for me, and let me know when the answer to a prayer has come. I really don't pray enough, and I could do more because I could pray while I'm cooking, cleaning, exercising, or even when I'm pretencing to listen to Richard(ha ha). Just keep me in all of your prayers. Lots of Love, Aunt Bea

I will pray for you and I hope you do start a journal, Sometimes we pray and think God will take care of that and other times we pray and "know" that God will take care of the situation. God is so good and blessings are so sweet. We must be thankful for all the prayers that are answered and all the blessings that God give us because we are faithful. Love you too Aunt Bea
