WORSHIP
This is a recent sermon at our church, I hope you get something out of it, I did. The following is all about worship. 1) Do you prepare for worship? Prepare your heart for worship, you need to leave all the things of the world behind and prepare to come into the presence of God. Do you know when you come to church that is the house of the Lord and we should be respectful of His house. The Spirit and truth should be the focus of your worship. 2) Worship can be your prayer time if you humble yourself because worship is to enter into the presence of God. You are talking directly to God , humble yourself in the presence of God. 3) Worship is not just a feeling, worship is a heart condition. Is God pleased with the condition of your heart? Do you bear a grudge against someone? Do you show mercy? If you do not show mercy you will not receive mercy. 4) What is your focus during worship? Are you more interested in where you will eat lunch? Are you more focused on what someone is wearing? Are you more focused on the color of the carpet or the chair you are sitting in? You are in God's house and in the presence of God your worship should be pleasing to God not people. You will someday know your loved ones in heaven but your focus will be on God. God will be exalted in the highest. This was a very good sermon and I probably didn't remember all the sermon but I hope I remembered enough to give you something to think about. what you said is verry true but somrtimes the events of the day interfere with getting your mind centered on the service. and sometimes distractions in the church takes you away from concetration on god. it is alot like going to work you are suppose to leave your home life home but that doesnt always happen. especially if you have kids they will call so part of your home life becomes part of your work life.
There are so many of us that are supposed to be Christians and standing up for our belief in Jesus Christ, the Son of our living God, however, I never hear a word from you. Please share your sermons, or Bible studies or Sunday School lessons with the rest of us. I am waiting to learn from you, from your insight from the word you were given today. Please share the word and take a stand for Christ.
The center of all of our lives should be God, but all to often we let the devil steal our joy, and our connectiion with Him. I know when I'm praying the outside world will come pushing in and destroy the moment. The one thing that I've never learned to do is to clear my mind of outside interferance. Please pray for me that God will help me conquer this weakness.
